Save the date | FAO webinar on Assessing Soil Carbon in Global Grasslands: The Importance of Sustainable Livestock Practices

17/03/2023

Soils are the second largest carbon pool on the planet and play an important role in climate change mitigation, food security and nutrition of billions of people. Sustainable management practices in grasslands can increase the capacity of soils to sequester carbon, and help countries reach their climate goals.

FAO is hosting a new webinar on "Assessing Soil Carbon in Global Grasslands: The Importance of Sustainable Livestock Practices" on Wednesday, 29 March from 14 to 15.30 (Rome time). The event presents the key findings of the first FAO Global Assessment of Soil Carbon in Grasslands, which was launched in February, and shares insights on the state of soil carbon stocks in grassland systems in the world.
