SMALL RUMINANT POPULATION (goat-sheep): 6.658.000 - 1.089.000
EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION FIRST/LAST OUTBREAK: the first outbreak was reported on 26 July 2012 in Cabinda.
CONTROL ACTIVITIES: In 2012 targeted surveillance has been conducted to determine whether there were any PPR cases and /or antibodies in the goat and sheep populations in high risk areas. Vaccinations have been done in high-risk areas.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 91.5% of sheep and goat are reared in central-southern provinces; documented livestock movement across official borders with Democratic Rep. of Congo and Zambia.
