From   3   to   5   November   2015,   the   third   edition   of   the   Food Processing  &  Packaging  Exposyum  (FPPE)  will be  taking  place  at the  Kenyatta  International  Conference  Center  (KICC)  in  Nairobi, Kenya.
This  annual  event  has  thus  firmly  established  itself  in  the local  market. Enterprises  from  ten  nations  will  be  showcasing  their solutions and products there. The exhibition will be accompanied by a three-day conference at which the theme of SAVE FOOD will play an important role.

The  FPPE  is  a  special  type  of  event  that  combines  a  symposium with  an  exhibition. Its  main  focus  is  on adequate solutions  that match  the  needs  of  local  food  producers. Their  requirements  and the proposals made  by  suppliers to  meet  them,  as  well  as  policies and framework conditions, are the core elements of the symposium.

Government  and  trade  association  topics  head  the  agenda  at  the beginning of the three-day programme, while the second day will be devoted mainly to the topic of food losses. This part of the program will  be  organized  by  the  partners  of  the  SAVE  FOOD  Initiative,  the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United   Nations Environment Programme   (UNEP)   and   Messe Düsseldorf. Adequate  processing  and  packaging  solutions  are  key in  fighting  food  losses,  particularly  in  the Sub-Saharan countries  where these losses are often caused by the lack of suitable means to process, store and transport harvested produce. For this reason, 2 the   third   and   last   day   of   the   symposium   will   concentrate   on technology and knowledge transfer in these areas.

For  the  first  time  there  will  be  a  German  national  pavilion  at  the FPPE with 18 participating exhibitors as well as a joint presentation by the aluminium foil industry with five contributing companies.

Last year’s edition of the Food Processing & Packaging Exposyum drew  more  than  1,000  visitors from  Kenya  and  the  neighbouring East  African  states.

FPPE  Kenya  2015  is  organized  by  Messe Düsseldorf.
