Smallholder Commercialization Programme (SCP) - Global Agriculture and Food Security Programme (GAFSP)

Objective: The capacity building programme of the FAO will contribute to the overall Development Goal of the SCP/GAFSP to reduce rural poverty and household food insecurity on a sustainable basis.

Outcome: the outcome of the FAO Technical Assistance within the GAFSP, therefore, is institutionally, vertically and horizontally aligned with the SCP/GAFSP, increasingly apply best practices in management, organisation, finance and administration, and technical skills.

At FAO HQ, the APO will provide expertise to the global programme for the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Governance of Tenure of Land, fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) managed by the VGGT Secretariat. At FAO Sierra Leone, the APO will provide expertise to the VGGT at the country level.
