Farmers in Mozambique reconnect to global cashew market
29/01/2016
Mozambican cashew farmers, once leaders in the global cashew market, found themselves falling behind after the country’s civil war. Now, they are finding their way back to prosperity after efforts to revitalize the value of Mozambican cashews through the Food for Progress Program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The programme supports the Mozambican cashew industry by harnessing global market demand for premium cashews and
addressing obstacles along the value chain, including in the areas of inputs, production, processing and marketing. Read more about the success story here and learn more about the programme on the website.
