This manual provides a set of tools that can be easily used and integrated in training programmes and courses devoted to value chain development. It considers an inclusive approach of integrating poor smallholders into value chain development and thus the tools have also a focus on social aspects of value chain development.  The tool book is divided into four sections: Part 1: Concepts; Part 2: Value chain analysis tool-general tools; Part 3: Value chain analysis tool-qualitative tools; Part 4: Value chain analysis tool-quantitative tools.
