22nd Session of African Commission on Agricultural Statistics (AFCAS), 30 November - 3 December 2011, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The twenty-second session of African Commission on Agricultural Statistics (AFCAS) will be held from 30th November to 3rd December in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The session will be preceded a technical workshop Cost of Production and Agricultural Price Statistics and consultative meeting on CountrySTAT. 

The creation of AFCAS was approved during the 11th Session of the FAO Conference in 1961, was established in October 1962 by the Director General.  AFCAS brings together senior statistics officials responsible for the development of agricultural statistics in their respective countries in FAO member countries in Africa. They review and exchange ideas on the state of food and agricultural statistics in the continent and advise member countries on the development of their agricultural statistical systems within FAO's programme of Work and Budget for Africa.
