The EuFMD online training course is available also in Russian

 

This online training course is one of a number offered by EuFMD through their online training platform “EuFMD e-Learning”. The platform, which is produced in partnership with the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, currently has close to 1500 registered users and hosts a number of training course and resources, including the FMD Emergency Preparation course, online induction and refresher training for EuFMD’s face to face workshops, and an archive of video recordings of all of the talks given at EuFMD’s recent conference, the Open Session.

 

A Russian language version of EuFMD's online training course, the "FMD Emergency Preparation Course" started on the 11th March and has just finished. There was a huge interest among participants. There were over 100 trainees from countries in the West Eurasia region, under component 2.1 of EuFMD's workplan (South East Europe Turkey Georgia and neighbours).

 

The online course is aimed at veterinarians involved in the field diagnosis of foot-and-mouth disease, and covered topics including FMD pathogenesis, clinical diagnosis and lesion ageing, laboratory diagnosis, outbreak investigation and biosecurity.

 

The course involved a number of live webinars and trainees were also supported through an online discussion forum where they could ask questions of expert trainers, and discuss a wide variety of FMD related topics. Trainers for the course included Dr. Gunel Ismayilova (EuFMD), Dr. Carsten Potzsch (EuFMD), Dr. Boris Gelman (Kimron Veterinary Institute) and Dr. Anton Karaulov FGBI ARRIAH (Russian Federation).
