Upcoming conferences and events, an overview of October’s agenda

Over the next few weeks, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)´s AGRIS will be part of several conferences and events:
- On 6 October 2021, during the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative, Imma Subirats will introduce AGRIS and discuss the “Best Practice: Promoting accessibility of scientific information and digital data in food and agriculture”. More information on the initiative available here.
- On 11 - 15 October 2021, the Fourth National Meeting for RDA France will see Imma Subirats talking about the Interest Group on Agricultural Data (IGAD) and a space for networking and blending ideas related to data management and interoperability. Further information on the event is published here.
- On 13 October 2021, the First Conference on Farmer-centric On-Farm Experimentation (OFE 2021) will be held online and AGRIS´s work will be presented on the second day. The topic will be “Including farmers with other stakeholders in data networks”. Information about the complete program of the conference is available here.
On 22 September 2021, FAO also participated in the Networked Knowledge Organization Organization Systems (NKOS) consolidated workshop 2021. In this case, in the session dedicated to Modelling and Representation of Complex KOS, Imma Subirats, Kristin Kolshus, and Daniel Martini presented AGROVOC, the FAO multilingual thesaurus, and the revision of the Agrontology (presentation available here).
