Difference in the response of wheat photosynthesis to temperature changes under UV-B radiation

To determine the effects of temperature change on photosynthesis and growth development of wheat, seedlings were subjected to UV-B radiation under different temperature. Photosynthesis parameters (photosynthesis and net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, carboxylation efficiency, etc.) and biomass were determined. The results indicated that photosynthesis parameters and biomass increased with temperature until 36 degrees Celsius, when all parameters started to decline. Moreover, UV-B radiation could result in decreased in photosynthesis and biomass accumulation. The worse effects were observed at lower and higher temperatures. This result suggests that warming can enhance crops growth and enhance the crops physiological tolerance to UV-B damage in warm/cold temperate zone.
