Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) is the head research Institute of fisheries industry. VNIRO provides scientific support of the fishery management, coordination of implementation of plans and programs of fishery research works of all fishery scientific organizations of the Russian Federation. VNIRO carries out scientific expedition researches and develops the recommended catch of water bioresources of waters of Russia and the World Ocean. Scientific research of VNIRO covers the issues of creation and development of scientific and technical bases of fishery activity, rational use, conservation, reproduction of aquatic biological resources and their habitat, aquaculture, international activities.
