International Conference in Belarus to Explore Key Issues in Agricultural Terminology

The FAO AGRIS, an initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is pleased to announce the upcoming International Scientific Conference “Actual Problems of Agricultural Terminology”, organized by the I.S. Lupinovich Belarusian Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in collaboration with the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics of the Center for Studies of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature. The conference will take place on 27 November 2025 in Minsk, Belarus.
The event will bring together researchers, linguists, and agricultural experts to discuss the evolution, standardization, and digitalization of agricultural terminology. By fostering collaboration across disciplines, the conference aims to strengthen the foundations for more coherent, accessible, and interoperable agricultural knowledge.
Conference Themes
The conference will address several key themes related to agricultural terminology, including:
- The development, harmonization, and standardization of agricultural terminology;
- The impact of globalization and digital technologies on agricultural vocabulary;
- The role of terminology in formalizing and communicating agricultural scientific knowledge;
- New approaches to managing and teaching professional agricultural terminology in the digital era;
- Agrarian terminology in the context of corpus-based research and computer linguistics.
Participation and Submission
The conference welcomes participation and submissions from scientists, early career researchers, educators, and professionals from libraries, archives, and research institutions.
