AgWA’s Steering Committee/Partners meeting was held on 25-26 November 2015 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The two-day meeting was attended by representatives of different AgWA’s partner organizations such as FAO, IFAD, SDC, COMESA, IGAD, CILSS, ARID, ECOWAS, MAAIF Uganda, IWMI, MARHASA Burkina Faso…etc.

The participants reviewed the different activities were implemented by AgWA during 2014-2015 and the current ongoing and pipeline projects.

The key points that were discussed during the meeting:

·         AgWA governance and implementation architecture;

·         AgWA operational plan 2015-2016; and

·         AgWA financing plan 2015-2016.

In addition, six presentations were given by SDC, COMESA, AfDB & USDS, IGAD, IFAD and Finland about their portfolios and activities in the water sector.

At the end of the meeting the attendees agreed on AgWA’s way forward for 2015-2016 and the roles and responsibilities of the partners in the implementation of the projects and activities were defined.
