New version of AquaCrop 7.3 available — now with Python source code

We are pleased to announce the release of AquaCrop Version 7.3, together with the first Python implementation of its source code. The new version introduces automatic estimation of soil hydraulic properties from soil texture, frequency analysis of simulation results, and refinements to several simulation processes. 

The migration to Python makes AquaCrop more accessible, flexible, and easier to integrate into modern research workflows and decision-support systems.

AquaCrop 7.3 is available on the FAO GitHub repository; standalone executables for Windows, Linux, and macOS can be downloaded from the software page.
