Old and New World Human – Camelid (Camelus, Lama, Vicugna) Interactions in their Material and Symbolic Expressions

Paris (France), Hybrid Event, 28/11/2024

The AVFH (“Animals and plants familiars of humans. Anthropozoology and Anthropobotany”) seminar of the UMR AASPE (joint research unit on Archaeozoology, Archaeobotany - Societies, Practices and Environments) was created in 2021 under the patronage of François Poplin. The seminar focused on the rich field of links structuring the construction and evolution of human societies and their interactions with their animal and plant environments.

Within the framework of the UMR AASPE seminar and the International Year of Camelids, this session was devoted to "human-camelid relations in the Old and New Worlds (Camelus, Lama, Vicugna) in their material and symbolic expressions".
