Committee on Commodity Problems

The 76th Session of the Committee on Commodity Problems (CCP 76) will be held on 11-13 September 2024 at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy, in a hybrid format. This biennial session will review developments in food, agricultural, and fertilizer markets, and examine market outlooks, including medium-term projections. The Committee will discuss the relationship between trade and nutrition, which is the theme of FAO’s flagship publication, The State of Agricultural Commodity Markets (SOCO) 2024, titled “The Geography of Food and Agricultural Trade: Policy Approaches for Sustainable Development.” Additionally, it will address the significance of efficient and inclusive agricultural supply chains for agrifood systems transformation, provide an update on WTO agricultural negotiations, and offer guidance on FAO’s work programme in commodity markets and trade under the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-31.
