Interregional joint workshop for desert locust information officers

The Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in the Central Region (CRC), the Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in the Western Region (CLCPRO), and the Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in South-West Asia (SWAC) are planning to jointly organize a workshop for desert locust information officers in Cairo, Egypt, from 21 to 25 June 2026.
This interregional workshop aims to strengthen the technical capacities of information officers in the areas of desert locust information management, survey data handling, analysis, reporting, and the use of digital tools to support early warning systems and informed decision-making.
The workshop will also provide an opportunity to launch the new versions of RAMSES (v5) and eLocust4, thereby further enhancing data collection, transmission, analysis, and information exchange in support of more effective and timely desert locust early warning and response.
It will also serve as a platform for experience sharing, harmonization of practices, and strengthened coordination among the three commissions in support of preventive desert locust management.
