FAO and Azerbaijan explore ways to cooperate within the framework of Hand-in-Hand Initiative

25 February, 2020, Rome - FAO Director-General QU Dongyu met with Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, on Friday.

During the meeting, the Director-General and the Vice President discussed FAO Hand-in-Hand initiative identifying countries, where Azerbaijan could contribute as a donor country.

Qu expressed his deep appreciation for Alyieva’s commitment and work as FAO’s Goodwill Ambassador.

Aliyeva welcomed FAO’s technical support in the country, and underlined that further collaboration could be explored in the areas related to food loss and waste as well as water management.
