Biosecurity

Biosecurity is a set of measures or activities designed to protect the farm from the entry and spread of diseases.

The responsibility for biosecurity is shared between poultry producers, managers and handlers, the people working on the farm and the visitors.

The take-home message is simple: you have to make your biosecurity plan work for you.

Ten simplified messages have been developed and handed out as a Biosecurity manual. The first five messages are to prevent introduction of the pathogens particularly Avian Influenza into the farm, the second five are to prevent spread of the pathogens from the farm.

Six governorates have been selected, Menofia, Behera, Ismalia, Giza, Mynea and Sohage.

Implemented

  • Six one-day workshop for orientation of service providers.
