TOM Steering Committee
The TOM Steering Committee (SCTOM) has been identified to contribute to the development and sustainability of TOM. TOM is a capacity development support tool.
The committee will:
- Advise on the strategic objectives and review the roadmap for the development and sustainability of TOM;
- Review the strategic needs indicated by veterinary authorities in terms of capacity development and recommend solutions through competency-based education programmes;
- Contribute to the establishment of regional/national sub-committees or working teams and provide direction for the development, implementation and evaluation of TOM at regional/national level;
- Identify priorities, opportunities and resources for the development of competency frameworks, guideline, quality documents and features development in TOM.
The SCTOM will include three ex-officio organizations as members:
- European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease;
- Food and Agriculture Organization;
- World Organisation of Animal Health.
In addition members of
- Competency based training providers in the veterinary post graduate area;
- Associations representing relevant vet specialties, including paraprofessionals (VPP and CAHW);
- Workforce training managers of NC authorities;
- Veterinary statutory bodies supervising CPD schemes.
