Preparing low-cost concentrate feed

In this video, we will learn from farmers how one can save money by making their own concentrate feed for their livestock and fish. Many farmers do not have enough good feed, they can buy concentrate feed that is rich in nutrients, but such feed is costly.

By making a base mix that can be fed to all animals, farmers save time and money. Two thirds of the mix is made from grains, like paddy, maize, sorghum and millet. One third of the mix should be rich in protein and fat. Depending on the type of animal, one then needs to add a few other ingredients, depending on what is available locally. This base mix can be stored for up to 4 months.
