Small fish-based fish chutney production

Bangladesh with all successes in poverty alleviation is yet to reduce the nutrition deficit, particularly for pregnant women. Malnutrition has a negative impact on the growth of children and could impact them for the rest of their life. Food intake with balance diet is out of reach for the majority of the pregnant women, and they can't reach their nutrition need. This Fish Pickle (Chutney: local name) is an effort to reduce the nutrition gap as a supplementary diet for the first 1000 days of life. It has successfully been trailed, produced and made available with due validation including quality, price, easy technology, availability over the year. Small fish are used as the key material; it is abundantly available all over the country and underused. Initially Chutney produced under social business modalities, no profit no loss basis. In order to reaching maximum Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW), the product has recently acquired the BSTI (Bangladesh Slandered and Testing Institute) certificate successfully.
