Al-Dhala Community Resource Management Project, Supervision report, December 2012

The Al-Dhala Community Resource Management Project (ADCRMP) [IFAD Loan 638-YE] aims to support sustainable and equitable growth of rural living standards and greater livelihood security for vulnerable households in the remote and isolated Al Dhala Governorate through better management of their resource base. The specific objectives are to: (i) empower communities, including women and the poor, to mobilize and organize themselves to participate in, and gain direct benefits from, development planning and project execution; (ii) remove critical physical and social constraints to productivity and advancement; and (iii) equip and support households to enhance outputs so as to secure basic food supply, produce marketable surpluses, and pursue income-raising opportunities. These objectives are to be achieved through implementation of five project components, namely community development; land and water resource management; agriculture and livelihood development; development initiatives facility; and institutional support and project management.
