Earl Quaak Farm
The Earl Quaak Farm has been in the family for three generations. It was purchased and re-organised by the Grandparents of the current managers of the farm after the Second World War. The legal structure of the holding is three-part. The land is held within a ‘Société Agricole à Responsabilité Limitée’ (SARL); the farming operations are held within an ‘Exploitation Agricole à Responsabilité Limitée’ (EARL); and, the new activities on the farm are undertaken within a ‘Société par Actions Simplifiées’ (SAS). The farming operations are managed by co-directors and brothers Mauritz and Jacques-Pierre Quaak. A further 4 external permanent employees, 2 male, 2 female, are employed on the farm, in the roles of secretary, livestock worker, crop worker, and general farm worker. Like the managing brothers, aged 38 and 35 respectively, these workers have a young demographic - aged between 24 and 45.
