Building on principles of local leadership and the power of education, the Farmer to Farmer movement helps communities create their own agricultural extension networks.

Farmers work with Semilla Nueva staff to try new growing technologies on their land. After they see results, we provide them the tools to teach these same techniques, training their neighbors in new growing practices that can radically alter their livelihoods. Farmers also receive the resources needed to form sustainable agriculture support groups where they can continue experimenting and sharing results with their community.

By creating these networks, it makes it easier to reach thousands of more farmers with simple changes in growing techniques that can increase yields and income, while fighting environmental degradation and global climate change. Farmer to Farmer helps unleash a locally-empowered, sustainable community development model that can extend the reach of sustainable technologies to thousands of more farmers.
