Sweet potato production techniques

Sweet potato, a rhizome-producing crop, not only serves as a food source, but also protects the soil against erosion by covering it with foliage. Sweet potato cultivation is based on three varieties, preferably in mountain ranges or hills. Harvesting, which can take up to four months, is based on the variety's vegetative cycle. After harvesting, the cuttings of the plant are replanted. These stakes have a long service life. For the maintenance and conservation of the crop, it is recommended to replace the missing plants, rebuild the mounds in case of damage and weeding, as well as sorting and drying the rhizomes.
