Vegetable growing - specialization of family farms in Stolin district of Belarus.

 About 5,000 family farms grow vegetables in the Stolin district (about 50% of family farms) in Belarus Agricultural lands in family farms – 500 ha of greenhouses and 3000 ha of open fields Family farms are very small –greenhouses 0.05 – 0.5 ha, open fields 0.5 - 1 ha Annual  production – about 250,000 tons of vegetables Annual turnover – about 60 million EUR The primary crops grown are cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage and carrot.
