The family farm and its relationship with the landscapes.

Analysis in two biosphere reserves: “Sierra del Rosario” and “Cuchillas del Toa”

As part of the objectives of the project “Agrobiodiversity Conservation and Man and the Biosphere Reserve in Cuba: Bridging Managed and Natural Landscape. (COBARB) in communities of the Cuchillas del Toa and Sierra of the Rosario Biosphere Reserve were analyzed different biological economic and social aspect to determined landscape zones per reserve. Four zones for each reserve were determined. These results facilitate a holistic understanding of the characteristics of both reserve and allow the agrobiodiversity conservation and its sustainable use as well as to improve the associated management practices, the quality of the ecosystems and improve livelihoods of the communities that inhabit these areas.
