An IFAD supervision mission visited Egypt to supervise the West Noubaria Rural Development Project (WNRDP). The prime objective of the mission was to conduct an in depth assessment of WNRDP implementation progress; propose relevant changes in view of the project winding down phase, and; provide technical assistance and backstopping. The Project goal is “Livelihoods of the target population in the new settlement areas enhanced with increased and sustainable economic activity and greater social self-reliance” The project consists of five main components: (i) community development; (ii) technical operations (crop and livestock production and development, and water management); (iii) marketing operation support; (iv) credit facilitation and enterprise development; and (v) project management.
