Grow Africa

Partnering to achieve African agriculture transformation

As an international organization for public-private cooperation, the World Economic Forum works to address major global challenges through multi-stakeholder dialogue and partnership. The Grow Africa partnership serves as an outstanding example of this approach. Cofounded by the Forum in partnership with the African Union (AU) and New Economic Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), the partnership works to fulfil the ambitious goals set by African leaders to transform agriculture and achieve food security on the continent through increased investment, partnership and improvements to the enabling environment. The results of Grow Africa’s initial four years are impressive: over $10 billion in private-sector investment committed; and over $1.8 billion implemented, benefiting more than 8.6 million smallholder farmers and creating over 58,000 jobs. The benefits that these activities are bringing to African communities are significant and are on track to significantly increase in years to come.
