The workshop aimed to outline key recommendations for scaling up social protection in humanitarian contexts that would inform the policy debate of the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS). The discussions focused on programming - including resilience and exit strategies, and the main cross-cutting themes of partnerships and coordination at national, regional and international levels, and financing.

Good practices were presented and the workshop participants - from governments, UN Agencies and research centres - identified gaps and areas of operationalization that could guide continued dialogue on managing risks in protracted crises. The results of the workshop will feed into WHS discussions under the thematic team on Reducing Vulnerability and Managing Risk.
