The General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture of Lebanon, the National Council for Scientific Research of Lebanon, FAO Lebanon and the Mediterranean Fisheries Research Production and Training Institute of Türkiye carried out the fourth scientific at-sea survey of fisheries resources along the Lebanese coast.

The cumulative results from the four surveys will be analysed and published as scientific papers to improve the understanding of marine resources and ecosystems in Lebanese waters will contribute to the GFCM’s regional initiatives to strengthen sustainable fisheries across the Mediterranean.

The initiative was carried out within the framework of the Global Environment Facility-funded project Fisheries and ecosystem-based management for the Blue Economy of the Mediterranean.
