EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Workshop on promoting the social acceptability of aquaculture in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea: a journey from farm to plate was held in hybrid modality in Lyon, France on 10 May 2023. The main objective of the workshop was to unite stakeholders in the region in order to review the importance of enhancing the social acceptability of the aquaculture sector in the region and discuss best practices. Participants identified the main issues hindering the wider acceptability of the sector and discussed possible solutions at the local, national and regional levels. Participants also attended panel discussions between producers, culinary researchers and young chefs on the culinary importance of farmed aquatic foods in the region.
