Global Symposium on Soil Biodiversity (GSOBI21) postponed to 19 - 22 April 2021 in a virtual format

Due to the ongoing situation following the outbreak of the coronavirus globally and particularly in Italy, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations is following a precautionary principle that is confirmed by the results of a survey conducted on 26 Feb. Based on this, the Global Symposium on Soil Biodiversity is postponed to 19 - 22 April 2021 at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy.

On behalf of theorganizing committee, we would like to sincerely apologise for the situation, especially to those of you who have already made travel and accommodation plans. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to a number of countries, institutions, and individuals for your important contribution to the preparation of the symposium.

The Global Symposium on Soil Biodiversity has been surpassing all previous editions of soil symposia in terms of abstracts submissions, side events proposals, and the number of participants, revealing the growing interest in soil biodiversity in recent years.

Unfortunately, the circumstances are beyond our control and it was hard to make such a decision, so we hope you can still join us virtually in April 2021.

Again, we do express apology for this change and we are grateful for your understanding and cooperation.
