Country introduction:
The Central African Republic is a country located in the heart of Africa. It is bordered to the north by Chad, to the south by the Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo-Brazzaville, to the east by Sudan and South Sudan, and to the west by Cameroon. Its area is 623,000 km² and its population is estimated at 4,500,000 inhabitants.
The country relies on imported basic necessities. The country has just come out of military-political crises. As a result, most basic necessities are imported from abroad. Among these imported products, food products occupy an important place.
Among these imported food products, we can mention rice, flours, salt, sugar, vegetable oil, canned goods, etc. These products are mainly imported from Europe, Asia, and America. Following the various events that Central Africa has experienced, the country also receives WFP products as part of food aid. These products come from the United States or Europe. Depending on their origin, these different food products may be GMOs.
