Rome – Forest and landscape restoration is a cost-effective response to food security, biodiversity, climate, and other development challenges, according to a new report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which warns that scaling up action will require greater investment, inclusive governance, and sustained political commitment.

Kampala, Uganda — on Tuesday, 25th August, 2026, a high-level stakeholder workshop was convened in Uganda to review and validate the final draft of the policy coherence analytical framework using public expenditure analysis developed through the UN-REDD Programme.
