Workshop on "Baseline assessment and ongoing monitoring of agrosilvopastoral systems with Collect Earth"
From the 12th to the 16th january 2015, FAO organized a training workshop on "Baseline assessment and ongoing monitoring of agrosilvopastoral systems with Collect Earth". This workshop aimed to develop technical capacities of Monitoring and Evaluation Experts of the “Action Against Desertification” project, regional and national partner organisations on the use of the Collect Earth tool developed by FAO. The workshop also allowed participants to share experiences and methodologies used in their respective countries to monitor and evaluate biophysical and socio-economic data in drylands and agrosilvopastoral systems. Based on these, methodological sessions allowed to discuss and identify how Collect Earth can be used and customized to meet the monitoring needs of the Action Against Desertification project in support to the implementation of the Great Green Wall for the Sahara and the Sahel initiative.
