Peruvian farming sector achieves a record-high growth of 9%.

The farming sector rose in July for the second month in a row, thus achieving a record-high growth of 9% over the same month a year before, Peru's Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry (Minagri) reported.

This shows the sector has started to pick up following "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon disasters earlier this year.

According to Minister Hernandez, farming saw a 7% rise in June, marked by a recovery in the agriculture subsector (11%). This result was mainly explained by the greater production of blueberries, paddy rice, coffee, hard yellow corn, and potatoes.
