Peru improves its food security ranking

Rising in the ranks of the Global Food Security Index 2017, prepared by The Economist.

Peru advanced two positions in the Global Food Security Index, ranking 53 out of 113 countries, according to the analysis of the Global Food Security Index 2017 (GFSI), prepared by The Economist, as reported by the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL).

“On a regional level, the Peruvian economy ranked ninth. Chile ranks first in Latin America, holding the 24th position in the world, followed by Uruguay (35), Costa Rica (36), Brazil (38) and Argentina (40)," stated César Peñaranda, Director of the CCL.
