14-18 March 2024, Rome, Italy – In collaboration with the SVC4SIDS project, FAO's EAF-Nansen Programme delivered virtual training sessions on the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries (EAF) on 14 and 18 March 2024. This initiative highlights FAO's unified commitment to sustainable fisheries management.

The EAF is a framework adopted and promoted by FAO to manage fisheries considering the ecological, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability through an integrated approach. A key focus of the training was to introduce its concepts and applications, including some of tools and resources available for strategic planning and the definition of management measures in consultation with stakeholders.
