The first meeting of the newly created Forest Corporate Group of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) will take place in Bari, Italy, on 2 February 2023.

The Forest Corporate Group was formed following the presentation made on CIHEAM’s Governing Board of the document "Preliminary Elements for a CIHEAM Forest Strategy'', from which the Governing Board approved the creation of a new corporate working group (CWG) on forests. This group involves several bodies active in the Mediterranean, including the Center for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF), the European Forest Institute (EFI) and the National Institute of Agricultural Innovation (INIA).

With the direction of the Secretary-General of CIHEAM in this thematic area, the first in-person meeting was organized for the newly created Forest Corporate Group in the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari. The meeting aims to discuss the terms of reference of the working group and to define the future strategy as well as establish contacts with the FAO Silva Mediterranea representatives.
