IDDRSI Country Summary Reports
The IGAD Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI) is a holistic and comprehensive plan, aimed at building the resilience of vulnerable communities to the effects of recurrent droughts and achieving simultaneous growth and sustainable development in the IGAD region. The overall goal of the initiative, which is being implemented in three five-year phases, is drought disaster resilient communities, institutions and ecosystems in ASALs of the IGAD region achieved by 2027.
After the completion of the first five-year phase, that ran from 2012-2017, the IDDRSI platform supported IGAD Member States to produce comprehensive review reports on their progress towards achieving the IDDRSI goal. These reports were summarized in the four-page briefs for presentation at the 5th IDDRSI Platform General Assembly meeting on 11th May 2018 at the Laico Lake Victoria Hotel, Entebbe, Uganda.
