Dr. Alicia Ilaga, who works as the director of the Systems-wide Climate Change Office in the Department of Agriculture of the Philippines, highlights the vulnerability of the country’s agriculture sectors and communities, and the importance to climate action to them.

She emphasizes the importance of improving the weather and climate information services as well as the advisory services to farmers and fisherfolk as part of the country’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP).

Dr. Ilaga shares in this video her views about the need to build resilient, progressive and productive agriculture sectors, climate resilient livelihoods and communities and preserve thriving ecosystems.

The FAO-UNDP “Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAP-Ag)” Programme is working with the Philippines, and other countries, to safeguard livelihoods and promote resilience.
