The Agricultural Research Corporation and ICARDA (International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas) organized a field day on March 4th, 2023 at the Alkumur area in the Gezira Scheme under the project “Fragility to Resilience in Central and West Asia and North Africa”. The event aimed to introduce six released wheat varieties and four released barley varieties to farmers while also understanding the challenges they face in the production of these crops.

WaPOR was introduced as a tool that can be used to monitor the performance of these varieties in terms of production (NPP) and water consumption (AETI) to select the most productive variety in relation to water consumption.
