Field data collection campaigns for the development of crop mapping in Tunisia

21/07/2023

During the workshop for planning and fieldwork preparation for data collection, which took place from June 20th to June 22nd, 2023, two field data collection campaigns were scheduled. These campaigns aim to develop crop mapping for the sites in Jendouba and Kairouan.

The first campaign will take place from July 3rd to July 7th at the Jendouba site, while the second campaign will be held from July 17th to July 21st at the Kairouan site. The main objective of these campaigns is to collect data related to crop types, water sources, irrigation methods, etc., for the Jendouba and Kairouan sites, with the aim of creating crop maps during the harvest season.

These crop maps will be integrated into the WaPOR platform and will contribute to improving the water productivity calculation model. The data collection will be carried out using the sampling units identified during the workshop for planning and fieldwork preparation.
