Training in Hammamet, Tunisia: "Introduction and use of WaPOR data"

20/09/2023, Hammamet

As part of the WaPOR 2 project in Tunisia, the IHE-Delft Institute in coordination with the FAO and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), organized the "Introduction and use of WaPOR data" training course in Hammamet, from September 18 to 20, 2023.

The workshop was preceded by a meeting of the project's COPIL steering committee to review the project's progress and present the SoLaWISe initiative and its synergy with the WaPOR 2 project. Around 31 engineers and technicians from various government institutions, non-governmental organizations and universities took part in the training.

As a result of the training, participants are able to describe the components of the WaPOR database, acquire WaPOR data from the portal, extract and analyze biophysical variables from the WaPOR database, and perform spatial analysis using WaPOR data in QGIS.
