Celebration: Mountain Pooja
On the occasion of International Mountain Day, Team Giripremi celebrated it in Pune.
Team Giripremi showed respect towards the mountain as per tradition the team did Mountain worship.
It was an honor to have guest Anshuman Bhadauria, Principal, NIM (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi, India) Maj. Deval Bajpayi, Vice Principal, NIM. Dashrath Singh Rawat, Chief Instructor, NIM. Vinod Gusain, Senior Mountaineer & Instructor, NIM.
Along with dignitaries, Giripremi's 8000er’ leader Mr. Umesh Zirpe, Jayant Tulpule - President, Chandan Chavan - Vice President, & Vivek Shivade - Secretary and other mountaineers were present for the mountain worship.
Chief guest, Bhadauria said, ‘I really appreciate this initiative of mountain worship to spread awareness and make people aware about it.’ He spoke about this year's theme which is Restoring Mountain Ecosystem and encouraged everyone to take steps in this noble cause.
Giripremi the pioneering mountaineering club has been promoting and conserving the mountain ecosystems for past 40 years. This year, through various initiatives Giripremi has reached out to over 15 000 individuals and has promoted the idea of restoring the mountain ecosystems.
