Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing

About the application

Capacity Development Portal Application | Resource material | Thematic areas

The complex nature of IUU fishing requires a concerted action at national, regional and global level.

At times, capacity development implementing institutions and donors may not have access to information to provide them with a comprehensive picture of past, ongoing, and planned capacity development activities carried out in a country or region by other agencies.

This Capacity Development Portal application is intended to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and information in respect to activities implemented around the world, with the aim of supporting States to improve their capacity to combat IUU fishing. In doing so, the objective is to promote synergies, complementarities and exchanges among relevant programmes, projects, and institutions, whilst avoiding overlapping and the duplication of interventions.

FAO has developed this Capacity Development Portal application with the support of the European Union and the Government of Sweden.

Information uploaded is then made publicly available in this tool. The information uploaded is the sole responsibility of the data uploader as is specified in the Disclaimer.
