Innovation in Waste Management to Enhance Livelihoods

The video focuses on FAO harnessing resources along the solid waste value chain, especially for the creation of green jobs within an intense humanitarian operation, focusing on the valorization of organic solid waste to produce compost. The video Shows the huge amount of waste produced daily at the camp and how solid waste is discharged and sorted in the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) components. It also shows FAO and EU staff members talking about the project’s benefits, impact, future plans, major issues before the project (in terms of large tonnage of waste) Moreover, two Syrian refugees briefly share their experience and how they benefitted from the project.
