Bulgaria-FAO shore-up relations to support knowledge acquisition/development in Nigeria

On Tuesday, August 2, 2021, the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Nigeria, HE Yanko Yordanov (Right), paid a courtesy call to the FAO Representative in Nigeria and to the Economic Organization of West African States (ECOWAS), Mr. Fred Kafeero, whereby they explored areas of potential collaboration in knowledge sharing involving academic institutions and centers of excellence. They also underscored the importance of research and technology transfer around more climate-sensitive seed varieties including perishables like tomatoes. Bulgaria has developed tomato varieties important for local economies. Other areas of interest lie in aquaculture.
